Contemporary Matt Graphite Kitchen

This contemporary kitchen was designed to make a statement through contrast and material clarity. The client wanted a bold, modern scheme that felt architectural and cohesive, with clean lines and carefully layered textures. Deep matt graphite cabinetry forms the foundation of the design, creating a strong and confident backdrop. Rather than overpowering the space, the darker tone anchors the room and allows the lighter elements to stand out with purpose.
At the centre of the layout, a substantial concrete-effect island establishes a clear focal point. Its monolithic form brings weight and presence, while the integrated seating keeps the design practical without disrupting the overall symmetry. A warm oak feature wall runs behind the main worktop, softening the darker cabinetry and introducing natural warmth. Floating shelves and recessed lighting add depth and balance, ensuring the space feels considered rather than stark.
Detailing & Style
The island is finished in a concrete-style surface that wraps seamlessly down the sides, reinforcing its solid, architectural appearance. An induction hob is positioned centrally, maintaining clean sightlines across the room. The rear run features integrated appliances housed within full-height cabinetry, including a built-in double oven stack for a streamlined finish. The oak feature wall provides contrast against the graphite units, while slim open shelving introduces lightness and display space. A pull-out pantry unit maximises storage efficiency without compromising the minimalist aesthetic.
