Navy Shaker Kitchen in a Contemporary New Build
Brighouse, West Yorkshire
This kitchen was designed for a newly built home, where the client wanted to introduce character and depth without compromising the clean architectural feel of the space. While the property itself was contemporary, the brief called for a kitchen that felt established and confident rather than minimal. Deep navy shaker cabinetry brings structure and presence to the room, adding contrast against the crisp white walls and natural light. The classic door detailing introduces subtle tradition, giving the new build a sense of warmth and permanence.
Bright white quartz worktops run throughout, keeping the scheme sharp and fresh. The central island, finished in matching navy with a waterfall-style quartz surface, creates a strong focal point and reinforces the clean geometry of the layout. Full-height cabinetry houses the integrated oven stack, while the long rear run of units maximises storage in a seamless, uninterrupted line. The finished result is a kitchen that balances classic form with the clarity and simplicity of a modern new build.
Detailing & Style
Shaker doors with brushed metal knobs provide subtle definition and texture across the cabinetry. White quartz worktops and upstands deliver a seamless, low-maintenance surface across both the island and perimeter. The island incorporates an induction hob and integrated wine cooler, while a stainless steel sink and minimalist tap maintain the uncluttered rear run. Light wood-effect flooring softens the depth of the navy cabinetry, ensuring the space feels bright and well-balanced.
