Warm Wood and Dekton Leicht Kitchen

Denby, Derbyshire

This Leicht handleless kitchen in Upper Denby was designed to create a simple, open space that works well for everyday life. The room has a long, horizontal window that brings in natural light and connects the kitchen to the garden, so the design needed to feel balanced and practical without drawing attention away from the views.

The main cabinetry is finished in a warm wood tone that runs across the full wall of tall units and continues along the sink run, helping to keep the room consistent and uncluttered. A dark Dekton worktop provides a strong, durable surface and frames the island, where the Neff hob sits neatly within the layout. The greys used on the island base introduce a softer contrast and help the kitchen sit comfortably within the wider open-plan space.

A key feature of this project is the pocket-door breakfast area. When opened, it reveals a well-organised space for small appliances, glassware and everyday items. It is fitted with internal lighting and drawers, making the contents easy to access. When closed, it disappears into the tall unit run, keeping the kitchen looking tidy throughout the day.

The island has a layered timber breakfast bar that extends toward the dining area, creating a relaxed seating point that works well for morning coffee or casual meals. These elements form a kitchen that is easy to use, well laid out and tailored to the way the homeowners live.

Detailing & Style

Warm wood-toned cabinetry runs seamlessly across the tall units and sink area, giving the kitchen a consistent, uncluttered feel. A dark Dekton worktop adds durability and definition, framing the island where a Neff hob sits neatly within the design. Thoughtful storage features include a pocket-door breakfast area with internal lighting and drawers, offering a practical space for small appliances while maintaining a streamlined look.

A Note From The Designer

The focus here was to keep the layout simple and easy to use. The pocket-door breakfast area was key, giving the clients a practical spot for everyday items while keeping the kitchen clear. The mix of timber, Dekton and Leicht cabinetry brought the balance the space needed.
